We hunt for St. Christopher medallions high and low, and occasionally we run across something different, something unique, something awesome. Like this one. A large (1.5 inch diameter) double-sided medal, with high-relief casting of St. Chris on one side and Pope Pius XII on the other. It is silver over brass, with brass showing in all the right places. We estimate this to be a '50s piece; we have never seen one like it before.
Once we find a medal, we work on the setting. In this case, the medallion is surrounded by six sea-glass beads we picked up in a Jaffa flea market a few years back. The beads are separated by leather spacers to keep the sound and wear down. All strung on a leather cord, 40 inches in length with an understated bead clasp.
Just one. When it's gone, it's gone.
